Z man, help us out please.
What was up with some of the quality of the Deans put out from the Chinese factory in and around 2006? And what about those "ping" trems. I don't know if you want to talk about this but please, it would mean a lot to know some of this information. As I've said numerous times before, my CFH is 8 pieces, glued together. What's up with that Dean? Thanks -------------------- ![]() |

As you can see they're fairly different compared to the Dean "Ping" licensed trems. |

PiNG are the supposed makers of those "upgraded" trems like on the Dime guitars, CFH, FBD, Razorbacks.
Honestly they're just a mystery trem. Nobody knows who makes them and I thought Mr. Z could help with that. And my Email has been sent. -------------------- ![]() |

Okay, let's get specific. If you want to know about parts used on Armadillo Deans, ask Armadilldo, aka ELLIOTT.

Just thought Dean could shed some light that's all. I sent an email to Elliott.

Here's the answer. "In all price ranges of Dean guitars, the best quality parts are used for the price range. Naturally, you won't find a $200 Original Floyd Rose on a $300 guitar. The ping trems are fine quality and 99% of complaints are due to poor setup."
Let me know how close I am. |

Yup, that will probably be the response. Nobody expects to find $200 trems on $300 guitars though, we want to know why we're finding $50 trems on $1000 guitars.

I wonder if this email is going to ruffle any feathers. Hopefully it does and sparks a change in the way things are done. I love my ML X for what it is, but sometime in the next year or so it's going to be time for me to start thinking about getting something a little nicer. I'll probably never be able to justify owning more than 2 good guitars and I'd love for one of them to be a good quality ML, but given the cost and features of the current high end Dean imports (I have serious doubts of ever being able to justify a USA model from any company), I'm not so sure I can justify it. |

I hear what you say about $50 trems on $1000 guitars. Do I dare say? Sure, why not?! Thos are not $1000 guitars. They're $500 guitars with $1000 price tags.

I guess that's the overarching point. Why are they charging $1000 for something that isn't really worth more than $600?

I guess that's the overarching point. Why are they charging $1000 for something that isn't really worth more than $600? Very simple, because people are paying $1,000 for $500 guitars. If they didn't sell, they wouldn't make them. I think it's kinda funny actually. Some people have bought guitars, after they tried them out, for $1,000 or more. Then they have the balls to complain about quality. Well, you tried the damn thing out, if you didn't like it...why did you buy it?! |

Elliott said he was gonna try and give me a call tonight when he gets some free time to discuss my CFH. I'm most likely going to bring up the trems as well.
