ok so here's the deal i got a new guitar a jay turser warlord ( http://www.guitarsreports.net/jay-turser-g...rs/guitar-5.jpg ), love the guitar but the pickups are "eh" and im looking to change them.
now here is the question, im looking into some rockfield pickups (a mafia neck and fat a$$ bridge) which are four conductor pickups, the stocks are two conductor, so how would i wire something like this up? will i have to spend a lil more for a coil tap or can i just alter the wiring and use the hardware thats already installed?
the harware is 1 basic threeway switch and a standard volume knob. thanks alot!

4 conductor is much easier to work with for coil tapping etc. If you check out the wiring diagrams on the seymour duncan site they have exactly what you need.

you dont need to coil tap if you dont want to, you just dont use all the wires. the manufaturer of the pickups you buy should have wiring diagrams showing wich wires need to be connected and wich wires you dont use. I believe it is typical to have the wires used for a coil tapped setup attached to each other and tucked out of the way. The SD site is great, but not all pups use the same wire colors for each value. so check with the pup maker

awesome, im not a big user of coil tapping so it would really be useless for me, but thats great not really farmiliar with the innards of a guitar so i figured id ask before i start wasteing money.

you'll be needing one of these soldering station
There are some pretty decent vids on you tube that show a proper soldering technique. Its really easy and doing it right makes all the difference. Have fun thumbsup.gif
